Environment & recycling
With ISO 14001, Datarec implements controlled environmental management. The paper scraps, which are no longer recoverable, are 100% recycled and thus again become a valuable raw material for the paper industry, primarily for the production of hygienic paper. The waste products from the data carriers shredded by special machines are also recycled in a practical manner.
An ecological example:
One tonne of shredded paper produces around one tonne of recycled hygienic paper. Datarec destroys around 10,000 tonnes of confidential documents every year, which is sufficient to produce around 10,000 tonnes of hygienic paper. Without recycling, 19,000 tonnes of wood or around 7600 trees would be required for this gigantic mountain of paper.
